Newtown blogger wins national honors for Connecticut Country House

At last count, there were more than 152 million blogs on the internet.

The chances of being seen in that global crowd are so slim that the vast majority of writers give up after a few blog posts.

Not Nora Murphy, of Newtown.

She launched Connnecticut Country House in 2012, filling it with pictures and stories of her relaxed New England lifestyle in a 1767 house, as well as decorating ideas drawn from her career as an interior designer for Polo Ralph Lauren and Ethan Allen. The blog began with a bare-bones design. “It was just a header and a photograph and a post,” Murphy recalls.
