The chances of being seen in that global crowd are so slim that the vast majority of writers give up after a few blog posts.

She launched Connnecticut Country House in 2012, filling it with pictures and stories of her relaxed New England lifestyle in a 1767 house, as well as decorating ideas drawn from her career as an interior designer for Polo Ralph Lauren and Ethan Allen. The blog began with a bare-bones design. “It was just a header and a photograph and a post,” Murphy recalls.
