Well dear friends, just as I had suspected, September was a complete blur!

We’ve been crazy as crazy, busy bees working our magic on the upcoming NMCH book. Yesterday, the first day of October, the blur continued with a packed day of setting up and shooting Snippets Boards for each country house, including my own. How very unique each board turned out to be…just like the real homes! Can’t wait for you to see! The book photography has truly been such a labor of love for all of us involved. Last night we finally called it a wrap. We’ve called it a wrap before with each location shoot, but last night was really it. I have to say it was bittersweet. Happy, relieved, exhausted, and sad best summed up our feelings. We toasted with a glass of red, and then had to balance it out with a glass (or 2) of white. Now in October we refocus our efforts into the writing.

This month, my beloved Connecticut Country House is featured in the October Issue of Romantic Homes magazine! A follow-up article on the table setting pictured in the magazine will be featured on www.romantichomes.com as well…please check it out!

New lifestyle segments for WFSB’s Better Connecticut are scheduled to shoot here at Connecticut Country House this month. So excited to see and work with my Better Connecticut buds after this long summer’s vacation! Scot Haney and I’ll be decorating doors and entries for fall and Halloween. This segment will air October 23rd, as well as will be available to view right here on the blog the following day.

Later this month, my son Conor will be joining me on our trip to London for the big Amara Awards reveal! (Still don’t know what to wear to this event. Any thoughts?)

From London, I head to Atlanta for the Country Living Fair at Stone Mountain Park. So excited to be in a Q&A with Country Living magazine’s Editor-in-Chief, Rachel Yardage Barrett. Country Living came to Connecticut Country House a few months ago to shoot for their Holiday issue, so we’ll be in full-swing holiday chat mode! I’ll be giving away tickets to the fair here on this blog and my NMCH facebook page…please look for it!

Last but not least, what I started at this summer’s Country Living Fair in Rhinebeck, is finally available to everyone exclusively here on this site. I’m so excited to launch my Nora Murphy Country House Collection of  “scentsational” candles! We’ve been fussing with the final touches of the packaging, because every detail of this new collection has got to be fabulous! If you want to be the 1st to know when we launch, please sign up here!

In between all this hubbub, I hope to close up the kitchen garden, go apple-picking, take a romantic leaf-peeping drive with Murph, and kick back with friends around a backyard campfire. That’s it! To keep track of your busy, fall-lovin’ month, just click here to download your own free desktop calendar. My gift to you!

Wishing you a beautiful October! Enjoy!

Love, Nora

So happy for you Nora. Just breathe and pause long enough to take it all in. It’s nice to see the rewards coming for all your plans and hard work! And it’s so wonderful to see dreams do come true when sufficient effort is put in motion. Congratulations!
