I started the Nora Murphy Country House emagazine for 1 simple reason…my “blog shoes” were too tight. I loved my little blog, Connecticut Country House, but in the state it was in, it was limiting in telling and showing my stories. So I had a vision of what I wanted it to be. Something really different. Something that featured my loves of decorating, gardening and entertaining, but with a personal POV.

I really had no idea what it would take to create and publish that first magazine. It took about 6 months of 24/7 work. At times, when I was so tired and it seemed like we would never get to the finish line, I would say to myself: What was I thinking? Thankfully, with the unwavering help and support of family and dear friends was this big, beautiful baby born. You know who you are, and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Truly.

So why am I re-issuing our premiere Nora Murphy Country House Summer 2013 issue? Because the original site no longer exists. It joined the blog site and became one. The magazines were not in flip book format, so unfortantely they just “went away”. There was a lot of great content in those archived issues, and one by one we’ll turn them into flip books. But mostly, the reason for the re-issue is that the first one was my very favorite one. It was my “Hello, I’m Nora Murphy and this is Nora Murphy Country House”. This issue launched in my favorite season, with my favorite people. places, and things. It’s my true voice. And pretty much because I’m very proud of what we accomplished.

Thank you for your friendship and readership. It’s been a fantastic 4 years!

Very gratefully yours, Nora

Thank goodness you saved the Summer edition and shared with me!
I so enjoyed reading and felt like I was there relaxing with you.
I want more, more, NEVER enough of Nora Murphy Country House.
Would like to purchase postcards from your site.
Thank you for sharing with your audience. I am truly sorry for anyone who doesn’t subscribe to your blog.

PS Have you ever considered putting the photos out there for us to download for say 3×4″ cards or 5×7″ notepads.
We could pay as we download, much like the quilt patterns charges per download for a pattern.

Hi Nora! I literally squealed when I saw your magazine as I’d sat down to enjoy and little time after gardening chores. What a TREAT!!! Every photo is so lovely; we live in Washington state but have traveled to Nantucket many times, including a surprise for my fortieth birthday (many years’ ago) for Christmas stroll and we’ve returned twice for that event. I share your love. Country Home issue is so very lovely also. Every. Single. Page! You are my very favorite blog. Thank you for sharing often and always inspiring.
