Whether getting the gardens ready for spring or prepping for the holidays, now is the time to get planting for gorgeous blooms!

I had a great time in the WFSB 3 Connecticut studio, with the hosts of Better Connecticut, Kara Sundlun and Mark Zinni. (They are just lovely!) As their new contributor for ‘Better Living’ I very much enjoyed sharing how simple it is to plant fabulous bulbs for decorating inside, as well as for planting in the garden now for a burst of springtime pretty later.

In keeping with the fresh new palette of Connecticut Country House, my on-line order from Van Engelen, Inc. (Bantam, Connecticut) consisted of bulbs that will produce all white, elegant blooms.

This is what I featured on the segment:

Amaryllis ‘Alfresco’ which promises to have fluffy, puffy white flowers with a sweet chartreuse green-green eye. As well as Amaryllis ‘Snow White’ which had phenomenal, frilly white blooms that looked great in the Summer Room alongside my shell and coral collection last year!

Paperwhite ‘Ziva’ will yield snow-white fragrant blooms on 15″-17″ stems.

Narcissus ‘Jamestown’ is a white daffodil with a soft yellow center that will be a nice addition to the traditional all yellow variety.

Tulip ‘Mount Tacoma’ will be a stunner in the garden as well as a cut flower come springtime. White peony-like flowers with chartreuse-green markings are stunning and fragrant.

Order now for yourself and enough for gift giving!

Happy planting!

Love, Nora
