I’m a sucker for anything tartan, but with the arrival of our cold New England winter temperatures, I’m drawn to the comfort of my collection of warm and wooly plaid throws.

While I have a bevy of beauties, I’m always on the lookout for new additions. From the bright jewel tones of a Royal Stewart, to the dusky palette of a somber Black Watch, I love them all.

Kept in stacks throughout Connecticut Country House, they stand at the ready, waiting to be grabbed, unfurled, and wrapped around our chilly selves as we snuggle in for another New England winter’s eve.

Happy collecting!

Love, Nora

Me, too! I love them! I added a few fur throws this year too, and we love it!

Makes a cold Pennsylvania night but more enjoyable!

I have the same passion for tartans. Ralph Lauren didn’t hurt that passion Either. I am never warm unless I have a snugly blanket in the winter, summer too.

Love your beautiful Connecticut Country House and your very inspiring Blog!
Would you please tell me, do you bleach your seashells? Love their chalky white color!
    Thank you!

Hi PJ! Thank you! My beachcomber shells get bleached by the sun after I collect them. But that’s about it. All other shells I found in “as is” chalkiy condition! Love, Nora

Love all things tartan. Where do you find your lovely throws? We are definitely experiencing winter in West Tennessee.

Hi Vikki! My tartan throws come from all over really…flea markets, estate sales, and antiques shows and shops…always keeping my tartan radar on – every season! Thanks very much and wishing you a warm & cozy start to the new year! Love, Nora
