Here at Connecticut Country House, we’re sad to see summer go – but have to say that we are really excited to kick-off the new fall season ahead!  We’re transitioning our lives from the long, bright days of summer and its glorious outdoor living (where we’ll still continue to garden and cook until the bitter cold sets in), to the chill and sweet smell of the fall air that nudges us to head indoors to start re-feathering our nests.

It’s a time of re-inventing and refreshing.  I believe that our homes are very personal, and so is the style and functionality of the way we decorate and entertain in them. As the seasons change, I use my house as my ‘design lab’ in creating ideas that speak to the 5 senses.  Whether it’s adding or editing things, moving furniture around, or simply changing my CD playlist, I know that when my home is in order and it reflects the season, it has a renewed energy – and in turn makes me feel that way too, as well as my family, friends and everyone who comes inside.

Here’s to changing it up, and getting ourselves and our homes ready for the holidays!
